A Message From Michael Recco

The History of Friends for Life Homecare dates back to 1970 when my mother, Norma E. Recco, opened her first home care office. For 35 years, she committed her life to home care and for over 20 years, I had the privilege of working side by side with her. She gave me the vision, knowledge, kindness and professionalism to help people live safely at home with comfort, independence and dignity.

There was one unique quality my mom, Norma E. Recco, instilled in me: “the key to quality was through professionalism in a family atmosphere.” When Friends for Life Homecare was founded in 2010, we were dedicated to living by this philosophy. Now almost a decade later, after having 10 successful years of service with my company, I can clearly see that my mom had it right- Success is in family, and that is what makes Friends For Life different from all the rest.

Friends for Life Homecare is family owned and operated, and everyone that deals with Friends for Life becomes a part of our family. When clients choose us, they adopt a professional family – a constant familiar support network that is always here to help. After all, isn’t that what families are all about?

We recognize the trust our clients instill in us every time Friends for Life enters their home, and we understand nothing is more important than their safety and well-being. Our business has evolved over the years, from home care to Medicaid and senior planning, support groups free seminars, volunteering and lastly giving back to our community. Though we continue to grow and expand each year, the one thing that will remain constant is our commitment to providing exceptional service, with compassion, excellence and reliability.

Many companies who are entering home services, are franchises of national companies or satellite offices. We are proud to be a family, locally owned and operated on Long Island, New York, with deep roots in home care. We are honored to be a part of a wonderful community that gives endless love and support that allows us various opportunities to give back.

Thank you for visiting Friends for Life’s Website. My commitment to you is that you will always have someone on your side helping you navigate through the challenges we face as we age. If I, or my Friends for Life team can assist in any way, please do not hesitate to take advantage of the easy access contact points here online, or give us a call. We’d be more than happy to help you and your loved ones.

About Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Amy Recco

For years Amy has led Friends for Life through a tremendous growth transformation, Amy focuses her wisdom and skills upon advocacy around aging, caregiving and guiding all of our efforts to continue to grow with success. She is committed to expanding the legacy of excellent care that began fourteen years ago.

Amy’s wisdom and knowledge of caring for the elderly was taught to her by her late mother-in law Norma Recco and she continued to learn from her husband Michael as Friends for Life started to grow. The expansion of her passion came from her own experience of caring for her mother in her old age and being her main caretaker. She then became a source of advice, advocacy, and care for her elderly aunts and uncles. She first hand lived the lives of all of her struggling clients, so if there is anyone to get superb advice from on caring for the elderly, it is definitely Amy Recco.

Amy’s leadership guides and supports Friends for Life – maintaining relationships with clients, our team, and all of the communities that we serve. She is the glue to our organization, always supporting and assisting the team while overseeing the growth and success of our Friends for Life Family. Amy is a passionate and highly experienced advocate for the elderly, she has not only led her family of life’s hardest challenges as loved ones grow older, but she has led hundreds of families in her own community.

Amy advocates for a better tomorrow, promoting her team everyday as they all dedicate their time to have better care for seniors and their families. Amy always goes that extra mile, She has devoted her personal and professional life to all that need her by being available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Her goal is to always ensure peace of mind to know that your loved ones are safe and cared for.

Amy has well-earned four “Woman of Distinction” awards from New York State. She was also an honoree for the Town of Oyster Bay’s “Random Act of Kindness Day” receiving the “Random Acts of Kindness” award. She has also opened a non for profit called Friends for Life Senior Foundation. This foundation has opened up the floor to others in the community that want to help fund all that Amy does for the surrounding communities like luncheons at senior centers, events for seniors, and much more!

Amy is a kind and warm hearted soul, a real blessing to her community, clients, team, and all that need her.
