21 Nov Happy Thanksgiving
Celebrating the holidays can mean a lot, especially when people come together to make sure everybody gets to celebrate.
That’s exactly what happened these last 2 weeks at Senior Centers around Massapequa, Long Island.
The team at Friends for Life Home Care dedicated their time and joyfully spent three afternoons at various Senior centers, serving a full Thanksgiving meal with desert to over 75 -100 seniors each day. Turkey, stuffing, cornbread, mashed potatoes, carrots and cranberry sauce catered by Broadway Gourmet, followed by an assortment of fresh baked cookies, spice cake and lemon cake. Following dessert, we played Thanksgiving Trivia and wonderful prizes were given to the winning team!
Amy Recco, owner at Friends for Life Homecare, said providing these annual Thanksgiving meals is important because many elderly citizens may not get one otherwise, and it’s an opportunity for friends for come together to eat and enjoy the holiday. Every year we do our best to give back and help feed as many families as possible on Thanksgiving
