A Night of Relief for Caregivers

On Thursday, September 26th, Friends for Life Homecare & Medicaid Consultants hosted a caregiver support group at their office on Park Blvd. The night was filled with laughter and tears. The support for one another in the room was overwhelming, leaving each caregiver with positive energy and fulfillment.

Who is Considered a Caregiver?

To be a caregiver, means taking care of a loved one who has a disability, disease or simply incapable of living an independent life. Your loved one does not need to be of any specific age in order for them to receive care. They also do not need to be related to you; it can be a family member, a friend, a neighbor, etc.

What is a Caregiver Support Group?

Because taking care of a loved one can be stressful and confusing, a caregiver support group is a place that caretakers can go to seek advice and relief. Some can exchange ideas, while others can simply share their stories. Support groups are a good way to help care takers cope with the entire process of giving care.
